Students learn and then demonstrate through written, and sometimes practical assessments, their ability to perform the desired skills. These courses combine to create coursework that makes up a program. Programs can last anywhere from 1 to 4 years and may include internships. In short, yes! We have partnered with Columbia Southern University. As a result, our classes now convert to secondary education credit with them for free. So, basically, you take some courses with us at an affordable price. Than convert them to CSU so you can obtain your diploma next!
When is a firefighter certificate awarded?
A certificate is awarded to a student who has successfully passed a specific course associated with a job requirement or skill. Couch Courses awards their certificate immediately following the grading of the course and completion of the feedback survey by the student. What is the feedback survey, and do I have to complete it?
The feedback survey is the student’s opportunity to share what they enjoyed, what was helpful, and any improvements they would like to see for that course or future courses. It is a requirement and once it is completed, we review and record your final grade.
Where can I access my firefighter certificate?
When you register with us, you will create a profile. In your profile area there is a heading ‘Certificates’. If you click that heading, you will be brought to your certificates from us, and will have the ability to download it to your computer by selecting the download button. From that point you can save it to your hard drive for your records, print it up, or email it to a requesting agency.
How long is a firefighter certificate good for?
Once you have a certificate from us, you have it forever.
