No, the textbooks are not included. 

There will be a link in the course description and in the bookstore that offer you an opportunity to buy the book directly from the publisher at a Couch Courses Student discount if offered.

Once enrolled, you will have 30 days to complete the online course.  Each online course may have time requirements that must be met within the 30 days.  Students can find that information in the course descriptions.

Yes, if for some reason you can’t complete your coursework in the designated amount of time, reach out to the Instructor and inform them prior to the end date and time to request an extension at admin@couchcourses.com. Instructors have sole discretion to extend past the class expiration date, and will review these requests on a case-by-case basis.

Since online classes are self-study based, it is highly recommended students have the required textbook for their course.  Some vendors provide multiple options for the textbooks, such as e-books and audiobooks.  If these options are available through the vendor, it is your choice which option you use.

Couch Courses is dedicated to a proper learning environment for students.  To ensure this, we allow a 90% refund via the same payment method if initiated within the first 24 hours of enrollment in the course.  This request to withdraw and refund must be accomplished via email to admin@couchcourses.com . If you request withdrawal from the course when not meeting this criteria, you can do so but will not receive a refund and will not receive a grade or course completion certificate.

A large portion of the underlying cost of payment processing is driven by fees assessed by banks and payment networks (like Visa and Mastercard). These networks set rules about which fees apply for refunded payments, and in many cases banks and card networks keep the entire upfront cost of a refunded transaction. For some regions and payment types, refunded payments also incur additional fees.

We aim to make our pricing simple and transparent, and our standard fees include access to a variety of features like fraud protection, reporting, and other tools for managing your payments. To address these underlying payment processing costs and continue providing these services as part of our standard pricing, CC keeps 10% when a payment is refunded.

Stripe is our online merchant payment processor.  Stripe submits refunds to your bank immediately. Depending on the bank’s processing time, it can take anywhere from 5-10 business days to show up on your bank account.

Additional Information

  • In some cases, the refund might be processed as a reversal, meaning the original payment will disappear from the account statement entirely and the balance will reflect as though the charge never occurred.

  • If you do not see the refund after ten business days and are still seeing the original charge on your bank statement, reach out to your bank for more information.

No, we are not a college.  We are an online educational institution that offers life paced self-study courses through a Learning Management System that is affordable and meets your schedule.

We do have a partnership with Columbia Southern University that will help you achieve your collegiate level goals. 

Your FCDICE number is available on the Florida State Fire Marshalls website. You will either have to create an account or login to an existing account and your student ID number will be on your “My Profile.”
