NOKOMIS FIRE DEPARTMENT

Mission: We are committed to providing the best service to the citizens we serve.

Vision: Our pledge is to continue to serve this great community with Pride, Commitment and Loyalty, as we have for the past 73 Years.

The NVFD serves Nokomis, Laurel, South Osprey and all of Casey Key. There are cost benefits of having a volunteer fire department in the fact that we are NOT funded by your property tax! Yearly fire dues are our main source of funding. We are a full service agency that responds to medical emergencies, structure fires, wild-land fires, motor vehicle accidents and fire alarms in our service area.

The citizens of Nokomis, Laurel, Osprey, Casey Key and the surrounding areas are protected by 42 State of Florida certified firefighter / EMT’s. Your firefighters are housed out of two Fire Stations, one located at 111 Pavonia Road and the other located at 1930 N. Tamiami Trl., which is a shared facility with Sarasota County Fire Department.
